This section is dedicated to the various types of exercises that are commonly used by pain sufferers with either sever mobility issues and/or aerobic activity limitations. It is important to get permission from your physician to start any of these activities. While these exercises/activities are commonly used for rehabilitative purposes, your doctor may want you to work with a professional Physical Therapist. We recommend that you do so, even if you have worked with a PT many times in the past. Understanding your current physical level is of utmost importance, and there are often new techniques/exercises to learn. Medical and FDA Disclaimers Below.

Warm Water Therapy
Notes on Compression Garments
Warm Water Therapy:
A great way to decrease the effects of gravity on the joints. It also helps with circulation, inflammation and stress. While soaking is beneficial, warm water aerobics is awesome if you can participate.
- Check your area gyms for warm water pools.
- Check for water aerobics at your local Y.

Products for Warm Water Therapy:
Water Shoes or Socks:
River shoes will be a bit ridged in the soul which may offer some support. Or try swimming socks that will better allow mobility but will protect your skin from the bottom of the pool. Both products can easily be found on Amazon or your pool-wear store of choice. Many swimmers have recommended the brand Ryka if you are looking for a quality pair of swim shoes.
Ryka on Amazon:
A suggestion for those that are getting chilly while they are taking swimming aerobics. Even-though the pool is warmed, a few big fans in the pool area might chill your upper-body during the class. This is another product that should be readily found on Amazon or your pool-wear store of choice.
For days you are feeling strong, try yoga. It’s beneficial to your physical, mental, and spiritual health. It’s a meditative practice wonderful for not only your balance, but your physiological health as well. Yoga is wonderful for anyone with breathing problems as it stretches and opens the lungs. The list of benefits is too numerous to mention. Please excuse my short crude synopsis of yoga.
Consider chair yoga:
For Joint / Musculoskeletal issues. The teacher will conduct the entire class either sitting on the chair, and/or using the chair for balance while standing depending on the class.

Muscle Healing: RICE
Note: This link is geared more for sports medicine, but it is very informative on all the benefits of compression AND how to pick a qualitiy garment as well!
Copper Gloves Consumer Reports:
The idea is to add the conductive metal copper to compression. Copper is said to releave pain, and be good for ciruclation. Note: This one is rough everybody. I love my balance bracelet! (Copper and Silver twisted together.) Unfortunately, there is little to NO studies on the healing properties of metals.
